Arranger, composer, producer and trombonist Vittor Santos was attracted to music very early through his parents records of brazilian singers such as Sílvio Caldas, Nélson Gonçalves, Anísio Silva among others. Vittor started to play tuba at 11 and became member of "Banda do Clube Musical Euterpe", during this period he studied with conductor Alberto de Araújo Lopes. Vittor started to play the trombone professionally at age 14 as a member of a quintet that played in dancing ball rooms. At 20 Vittor started his own band: “Vittor Santos Orchestra”, the band recorded two albums: "Aquarelas Brasileiras" and " Um Toque Tropical", and was featured in several TV series such as "Anos Rebeldes" and the movie "Banana Split". He featured at the Free Jazz Festival in 1999. Vittor Santos has recorded several albums: "Trombone" (1994), "Sem Compromisso" (1997), "Você só dança com ele" (2005) featuring Chico Buarque's songs, "Renovando as Considerações", also released in the US as "Renewed Impressions". As an arranger and instrumentalist Vittor's work is requested by important artists such as Chico Buarque de Hollanda, Caetano Veloso, Leny Andrade, Gal Costa, Moraes Moreira, Miltinho, Elza Soares, Ivan Lins, Maria Schneider, Mario Adnet, Ricardo Silveira, Hamilton de Holanda, Francis Hime, Leila Pinheiro, Fátima Guedes, Antônio Adolfo, Ed Motta among many others.Vittor also participated in the last recordings by Antonio Carlos Jobim.


As an educator Vittor Santos is constantly requested to teach arranging, harmony and composition classes throughout Brazil in several events such as the International Summer Course at Escola de Musica de Brasília. Vittor Santos' symphonic orchestral work was first performed in 2001 "Divagações sobre os quatro elementos" by “Caxias do Sul Wind Orchestra”, in 2004 the Petrobras Symphonic Orchestra performed his "Divagações nº 12 - concert for clarinet and e orchestra". Vittor Santos' arrangements were performed by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra during the event "Carnival on Broadway, the music of Brazil" in 2001/2002. Vittor's works were also performed in Denmark by saxophonist Harvey Wainapel and the Kluver's Big Band in 2006.
